Newspeak Studio
For Newspeak Studio’s latest menswear collection, I developed a campaign film inspired by the brand’s research into historical garments, workwear and traditional tailoring.
The visual direction translates these references into a contemporary film with a vintage, worker-inspired character. Shot across two locations in Rotterdam — a second-hand store and an art school — the campaign combines carefully selected environments, retro lenses and vintage-inspired color grading to create a timeless atmosphere around the collection.
Transitions through the camera viewfinder connect the two locations and became a recurring visual device throughout the film, reinforcing its observational, analogue character.
My role covered concept development, art direction and filmmaking, from visual research and storyboarding to location scouting, shooting and shaping the final cinematic language.

The Making Off
The project began with visual research and exploration of Newspeak Studio’s historical references, gradually defining the atmosphere and cinematic language of the campaign.
From there, I moved into location scouting and storyboarding, planning model movement, lighting, transitions and the rhythm of the edit around the selected outfits and environments. With the entire campaign filmed across two locations in a single day, careful preparation was essential.
In post-production, the final character of the film was shaped through color grading and finishing, developing the retro, film-inspired quality established during the research phase.
